About Me & My Journey

Hi, I’m Teresea, a certified grief counselor dedicated to providing a compassionate space for healing and hope. I believe that grief is a deeply personal journey, and I’m here to walk beside you every step of the way.

Grief entered my life early, and over the years, it has taken many forms—loss of loved ones, identity, roles, and even the stability we often take for granted. In October 1997, my mother was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. At just 25 years old, I became her caregiver, navigating appointments, hospice care, and making difficult decisions on behalf of our family. She passed away in April 1998, leaving an indelible mark on my heart and inspiring my passion for supporting others through grief.

Since then, I’ve faced a series of life-altering losses: my aunt to breast cancer, a miscarriage at 13 weeks, my father as a dialysis patient and disabled veteran, and the tragic passing of my siblings, in-laws, and close family members. Each loss brought new layers of grief, responsibility, and secondary challenges.

Through these experiences, I’ve gained deep empathy and insight into how complex grief can be. I’ve lived through caregiving, anticipatory grief, generational trauma, sibling loss, pet loss, and the ripple effects of secondary losses like financial instability, fractured family relationships, and shifts in identity. I’ve experienced the challenges of adapting to health changes after my thyroid cancer diagnosis, all while navigating the weight of being a caregiver, partner, and parent.

Through these experiences, I’ve learned that grief isn’t something we “get over”—it’s something we carry, learn to live with, and eventually find ways to honor. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your grief, honor your loved ones, and begin to rebuild your life in a way that feels meaningful and authentic to you.

In addition to grief support, I also work with individuals navigating the complexities of caregiving, compounded grief, generational trauma recovery, and supporting loved ones through addiction recovery. I understand the emotional toll these challenges bring and am here to guide you through them with compassion and understanding.

I believe healing looks different for everyone. Whether you’re coping with a recent loss, struggling to process long-held grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we can create a path forward, one step at a time.
